Sugar Rush is an all-girl teen pop/rock band that has been together since 2010. They were formed by mentor/instructor Tony Tabor at the House of Music in Orland Hills, Illinois where the girls all take private lessons. When House of Music decided to bring students together to form rock bands, Sugar Rush was the first one to hit the scene and they haven't stopped moving forward and evolving since! After losing 2 members in their early existence, the original members of Jamie Rago on lead vocals/electric guitar and Payton Orozco on drums have added Therese Bueno on lead vocals/acoustic guitar and Jane Folliard on vocals/keyboard which is finally the perfect fit they were looking for!
Sugar Rush began playing covers of Taylor Swift, Michelle Branch, Christina Perri and Adele to the delight of audiences in the Chicagoland area; but they soon began to uncover their own talents and started writing and arranging their own music. To date, they have 14 original songs and released a four song EP in October 2011 which featured 2 of them "Pretty Boy" and "Once More", and released another, "Turn It Up" in the summer of 2013 featuring another 4 original songs. With their tremendous energy and killer harmonies, they light up the stage and continue to blend the best of pop and pop/rock in all their shows. Sugar Rush has performed at Limestone City Grill, Sam MacGuire's Pub, Sullivan's Pub, Polish Fest and Octoberfest at Toytoa Park, Blarney Stone, The Bridge Teen Center, Battle of the Bands in Joliet, Tinley Park and Orland Park, and took 1st place in the Battle of the Bands in Joliet in 2011 and Taste of Orland in 2012. They were the headliners for The Bridge Teen Center Community Open House in May 2012, the Teen Band Showcase at Orland Park Library, Hackney's in Palos Park, the Illinois State Fair, U.S. Cellular Field and the House of Blues. These young ladies took first place in the International House of Blues "Bringin' Down the House" competition in 2013 at the House of Blues in Chicago and were featured there again in July 2014 for their Metal Chef event.
